Dry Eye Treatments

We offer a series of in-office treatments to improve tear production and alleviate the symptoms of dry eye disease. We also work with our patients to create an at-home regimen, with education and products, to maintain healthy eyes.

In Office

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy

This treatment utilizes bursts of light to target vascular lesions as well as hyperpigmentation. It will help to reduce the symptoms of redness and inflammation associated with Rosacea and Dry Eye. The treatment is tailored to each patient and done as a series in order to achieve the best results.

Radiofrequency (RF)

This is a non-invasive, Health Canada approved treatment that uses energy in the form of electromagnetic waves to stimulate the deeper layers of the skin. The heat and pressure melt the hardened oils within the meibomian glands to aid in their expression as well as improve the tear film and blood circulation.

Zest (Zocular Eyelid System Treatment)

This is a deep cleansing of the eyelids and lashes to improve symptoms of Blepharitis, Demodex, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) and Dry Eye. The Zocular cleansing gel is a combination of okra extract, aloe vera, citrus and caffeine which contain anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties.

At-Home Care

Warm Compresses

Using a heat mask to help melt the hardened oils within the meibomian glands will allow the oils to flow more freely.

Lid Wipes/Scrubs

These are used to ensure that your lid hygiene is well maintained.

Preservative Free Artificial Tears (PFATS)

These help to lubricate your eyes and can be used multiple times throughout the day.

Omega 3 Supplements

May reduce the risk of dry eye and help treat inflammation which will help improve symptoms. They can also improve the function in the Meibomian glands which will help with tear secretion and therefore ease dry eye symptoms.
